The borough's headquarters are in the town of Godalming; other notable settlements are the towns of Farnham and Haslemere and the large village of Cranleigh.

Waverley is a large rural borough in South West Surrey with a population of approximately 123,000.  It has plenty of character, lush green spaces and a diverse business community. It is often rated as one of the best places to live in the UK. 

We have an annual turnover of £62 million and employ over 470 staff. We work to make Waverley an attractive and prosperous place to live, work and visit.

We provide more than 110 services, including:

  • housing

  • planning

  • refuse collection

  • recycling

  • public health services

  • council tax collection

  • leisure facilities

  • playgrounds and parks

  • support for the elderly and vulnerable families.

To do this we also work in partnership with:

  • Surrey County Council and the 10 other boroughs in the county

  • other public sector partners such as the NHS, police and fire services

  • charities and volunteers

  • contractors

  • local community groups.
